Terms of Service.
These terms govern your use of Artefakt Foundation's websites and archive and publishing applications (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use Artefakt
Artefakt is a human-verified network. Membership and the ability to publish are granted by invitation and subject to verification of identity and authorship. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate any person or organization.
2. Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Your content and rights
You retain all copyright and ownership in the photographs, film, audio, and other material you upload. By uploading content, you grant Artefakt a limited, non-exclusive license to store, back up, display, and distribute that content only as you direct through the Service — for example, to publish it, deliver it to a client, or display it in your archive. We do not claim ownership of your work and we do not license it to third parties without your instruction.
4. Authenticity
Artefakt exists to represent authentic, human-made media. You agree that content you present as human-made is your own original work, and that you will accurately represent how it was created. Misrepresenting authorship or the human-made nature of work is grounds for removal and termination.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; to violate others' rights; to attempt to breach security or scrape the platform; or to interfere with its operation.
6. Payments
Where the Service includes paid plans or storage tiers, the applicable fees are shown at the point of purchase and processed by Stripe. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable for the period already served.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where reasonable. You may export your content before closing your account.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Artefakt is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Updated” date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
